I spent this weekend in our summer house in Tisvildeleje and documented a bit of the amazing weather and the idyllic surroundings.

Tisvildeleje is the place where many of the ‘city people’ go in the summer. Often during the busy weeks (in July) you will meet many of the same people who you would bump into in town. Although this can be a bit claustrophobic, it is always quite cosy to meet in a more chilled and laid back environment.

Tisvildeleje (a.k.a Tisvilde or Lejet) has many events during the summer months, which are also the busiest. Everything from flee markets on Sundays, to a music festival and comedy/theatre shows every night. The town is filled with people walking to and from the beach or in and out of the little local shops, buying food for the next barbecue.

Tisvilde has a handful of good restaurants. Check out Tisvilde Bistro and order their daily special – always very nice and a good price. And for some luxury – with one of the finest views Denmark can offer – go to Helenekilde Badehotel.

Here are some of the snapshots I took last weekend – can’t wait to go again soon!
